Today
(9/23) the girls played Kankakee and just fell short of a SWEEP!!!
THE TOTAL SCORE WAS 4-1!!! BIG WIN!! #1 Singles Ashley Lovell played
her very best against a very tough opponent. Ashley had a ton of
very good returns and just fell short of a win. #2 Doubles Colleen
Smith/Jenessa Franco won 7-5,6-1 #2 Doubles Gina Franco/Angela
Williams won 7-5,6-1 and #3 Doubles Sarah Olofsson/Kara Hogan won
6-0,6-1. GREAT TENNIS TODAY!!! Exhibition did equally as well and
all three matches won BIG including #1 Singles Sam Ochoa, #1 Doubles
Jen Christensen/Haley Grant and #2 Doubles Tess Galvin/Jaimie
Anderson. CONGRATS Ladies on another GREAT day of Tennis!!! Keep up
the good work!! All City is next Wed. so lets get our Game face on
and get ready!!!
Girls Tennis Update
The girls just keep looking STRONGER and STRONGER. They have worked
so hard this week. Last Wed. against Bradley they fought very hard
and played some very good tennis. We may have not walked away with
any wins but the girls really looked good and gave them a challenge.
Over the weekend the girls played against two very tough teams and
again were able to step up to the plate and play their very best.
Today at Watseka our #3 Doubles Sarah Olofsson and Kara Hogan came
home with a big win 6-3, 6-4. They looked GOOD!! CONGRATS!! #2
Doubles Angela Williams and Ashley Lovell came VERY close to a win
and had to go to a tie breaker in their second set. Congrats to all
the Irish Ladies for all of their hard work and positive attitudes!!

WOW!! The McNamara Ladies Tennis team has had another GREAT week!!
Thursday
9/10 the girls were up against a tough group of girls from
Providence and played their very best! All the girls improved on
their on their court strategy and technique. Providence beat us 5-0
but the girls gave them a good challenge. On Friday 9/11 the whole
team played without a loss!! McNamara Girls swept Rich South 5-0. #1
Singles Ashley Lovell won 6-0, 6-0 #2 Singles Sarah Olofsson won
6-0,6-0 #1 Doubles Colleen Smith/Jenessa Franco won 6-4, 6-1 #2
Doubles Angela Williams/Gina Franco won 6-0, 6-0 #3 Doubles Kara
Hogan/Liz Davis won 6-0, 6-4 Our Exhibition matches all won as well
#1 Doubles Sam Ochoa/Rose Aviles won 8-0, #2 Doubles Hailey Grant/Jaimie
Anderson won 7-3 and our #3 Doubles Tess Galvin/Ellen Gilmore won
6-1.

McNamara Girls Tennis ROCKS!!
WOW!!! What a week!! Tuesdays meet 9/1 at home against Nazareth
Academy was exciting. #2 doubles went to their 3rd set wining 6-4,
6-7, 6-4. #1 Doubles came on strong but lost 7-6, 3-6,3-6. #3
Doubles Ashley lovell and Sarah Olofsson gave it their best shot
along with #1 single Kara Hogan and #2 Singles Rose Aviles.
Wednesdays meet 9/2 ar Coal City they just missed a win the total score was 2-3. #1 Singles Liz Davis put up a good fight but lost 2-6, 5-7. #2 Singles Kara Hogan faught equally as hard but lost 0-6. 1-6. #1 Doubles went into their third set and lost 6-2, 4-6, 5-7. #2 Doubles Gina Franco and Angela Williams won again 6-2, 6-1. #3 Doubles Ashley Lovell and Sarah Olofsson came on strong and won 6-2, 6-4.
Today 9/3 against St. Joe the McNamara Ladies made a SWEEP against their opponents. Wining 5-0!!! Not one set was broken!! They WON it all!! CONGRATS LADIES!!! GREAT TENNIS this week by all of the girls!!

2009 McNamara Lady Irish Tennis Team!
We
are finishing up our 9th week of summer open Tennis practice. Thank
You to all of you that have been so dedicated over the summer. You
all are improving so very much and looking VERY GOOD!! Your hard
work will pay off this upcoming season!! I can't wait!! The summer
has gone too fast!! We will start official practice Wed. Aug. 12th.
We will meet 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wed. and Thurs. and Friday the 14th
8:00-10:00a.m. There will be no practice 8/10 and 8/11. Please come
join us if you are interested in playing.....NO experience
required!! These times may change and if they do I will let you all
know. Our first match will be August 25th at Crete Monee High
School. Just one day after school starts. I will be giving out the
2009 schedule at practice and it should be posted soon online. I am
very excited to get started I think we will have a great group of
girls and a successful season!! To those of you that have been
unable to attend the Mon./Fri. open practice I hope to see you soon!
To all incoming Freshman girls DON'T BE SHY GIVE IT A TRY!! We would
love to have you out on the courts with us!! Once school starts
practice will be held at 3:15- 5:00 Cobb Park.
